This photo shoot was for a travel article on the grizzlies of the Khutzeymateen Valley in Northern B.C. Canada and also portrayed the eco-tour business with Tom Ellison and Jenn Broom from Ocean Light II Adventure company. ( Text: Brian Payton ) Grizzlies love munching on the sedge grass in the early spring. The Khutzeymateen Valley. This little guy climbed up on a rock and fell a sleep right before my eyes.
Sleeping but always aware. This is the mother of the cub on the rock. I was still photographing the little cub when I noticed her out of the corner of my eye. I was shooting on a tripod and just turned the camera and fired off a frame. This big male was okay with me making photos then all of a sudden he had enough. He got up and started to walk towards me and then gave me the look. I had surprised this male and he seemed a bit anxious. He snorted a couple of times and then meandered off.
